Dr. Demetra Vassiliou graduated in 1987 from McGill University medical school in Montreal. She then completed a  one year internship in Internal Medicine at Queen's University followed by a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from McMaster University and then the University of Ottawa. She did post graduate training in the then emerging field of laparoscopic surgery.

 

Dr. Demetra Vassiliou has been in practice at the Ottawa Hospital- Civic campus for the past 25 years. She has a large thriving obstetrics practice. She is known for providing evidence based care and for her attentiveness towards her patients.

 

She is involved in the teaching of residents and medical students both in the hospital and her private clinic.
